Global Technology Outsourcing RPO Success Story

A global technology outsourcing company was hiring more than 1,000 IT employees per year and paying fees for 25 percent of the US-based hires. Board level management wanted the fees reduced. IT hires were in some of the hottest markets in the US and there was no overall management of the recruiting effort.
A global recruiting effort was created in an on-site staffing model for the client. Agency use was targeted toward certain openings, which were hard to find. Good candidate flow openings were no longer sent to agencies and candidates were hired that applied, rather than paying fees. Hiring managers and vendors were required to move all candidates through the Applicant Tracking System (ATS). Vendor scorecards were implemented. Teams with coordinators, sourcers, and recruiters were put in place to work on and hire difficult-to-find candidates. Within a few months, managers had bought off on the solution and were no longer using vendors first. Instead, they were working with the in-house recruiters. Overall vendor fees dropped in the first year more than 60 percent.
